Deputy Superintendent of Police Lloyd Bailey at the Portmore Station packing seized ganja valued about $4 million. - Rasbert Turner/Photographer The Portmore police in St Catherine this morning seized more than 400 pounds of compressed ganja valued at approximately $4 million.

But no one has been caught.

The police say about 3 o’clock, they were on patrol along Municipal Boulevard when a truck driving with one headlight was stopped.

The police say the truck accelerated and the occupants started throwing bags from the moving vehicle.

They say they gave chase however; the truck eluded them in the Grange Lane area.

When the packages were retrieved 75 packages of ganja weighing about 400 pounds were found.

The Trans-National Crime and Narcotic Division have also started a probe in the matter.
